Cruci-un-fix-able

This is a poem not so much inspired by recent events in my life as it is a direct product of…

I lost my sight
And more besides,
This time two years ago.
I no longer feel how I
Am supposed to feel.
Somewhere there are
Tears that were left
Behind: or did you
Take them as severance?
Understandable, probably,
Although unforgivable.
Shadows play at life
In my memories of
Somebody else’s love and
There’s a sword etched
Above my head
For never having dreamt,
Though I am forever asleep.

Was that co-habitation,
Or were we comatose with lust?
I ask…but am forsaken
And remain in unanswered silence.
